What are the hours of the Bonfire?

6:00PM–10:00PM

Where are the Iron Furnaces located?

Very close to downtown Scranton. 159 Cedar Ave. in South Scranton right off the exit from 81 and across from General Dynamics (old Chamberlain) and near Coney Island.

Where Can I Park?

Parking is available in the University of Scranton Fitzgerald Field Parking lot, on the street across from the Furnaces and on Cedar Ave. Downtown is also within walking distance. There is street parking and a parking garage on Adams Ave.

What time is the lighting of the Bonfire?

The Bonfire will be lit at 8:00PM.

How much are tickets?

Tickets include admission to the festival and $5 in Bonfire Bucks, to use towards food, beverage, and activities. Tickets are $25 (until the event sells out). As always, entrance to the festival is free for children 12 and under.

What are Bonfire Bucks?

Bonfire Bucks are worth a $1 in value and can be used to purchase food & beverage, and for activities such as face painting, balloon art, and tarot card readings.

Is this event family friendly?

Children 12 and under are admitted free. There are many activities that children will enjoy including fire performers, face painting, balloon artists, dance performances, and of course the lighting of the fire. There will also be hands-on art activities sponsored by the Everhart Museum, Scranton Cultural Center, United Neighborhood Centers of NEPA, the Greenhouse Project at Nay Aug, and our very own Bonfire Committee.

What type of food will be there?

This year we are featuring delicious Polish fare by Yogis Potato Pancakes and Tarnowski’s Kielbasa, as well as craft food from the Backyard Ale House, and sweet treats by Sweet Lush Cupcakery and Country Girl Kettle Corn!

What type of adult beverages are available?

Libations will include spiced cider, beer, and wine from our friends at Banko and Maiolatesi Wine Cellars. Hot beverages such as coffee and hot chocolate will be provided by UNICO.

What bands are playing?

The event will feature music by the John Stevens Polka Band and newcomer, the upbeat-dance-in-the-streets Alligator Boogaloo!

Which organization does this event benefit?

Bonfire at the Iron Furnaces is a program of The Anthracite Heritage Museum and The Iron Furnaces Associates. The Anthracite Museum and Iron Furnaces fall under the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.

How can I purchase advance tickets?

You may purchase tickets online through Brown Paper Tickets this link (a small service charge applies). Prior to the night of the event, tickets can also be purchased in person at the Anthracite Heritage Museum at R.D. #1, McDade Park, Bald Mountain Road, Scranton, PA 18504, or at the Electric City Trolley Museum at 300 Cliff St, Scranton, PA 18503. Tickets are $25 for GA and $50 for VIP.
